Averse to Pubs

2007.beer.jpg Actually that should read 'A Verse to Pubs'. This is all about a hostelry based, beer inspired poetry conmpetition, you see. Organised by the Vintage Inns group to herald this year's ale festival. Seems like a pretty sound idea to us: as Horace said:

No poems can please for long or live that are written by water-drinkers.

But whilst wine has long been the muse of poets, beer has been sadly neglected. Budding bar bards have got until 31st July to submit their stanzas, which should include references both to the featured beers and to their area. (Image/ninix)
