We've taken a real liking to Suggs. Whether he's releasing records about the city, running a festival in Victoria Park or simply playing Madness hits from the top of a bus, it's clear he's London through and through. Now he's doing his bit for charity too, taking to the upper deck of HMS Belfast on 20 June to kick off Busking Cancer, a week where musicians up and down the country will busk to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

The line-up includes Suggs and members of Madness, Skye Edwards from Morcheeba and Zarif, who chatted to us last week. Oh, and Rod Stewart, though thankfully he won't be singing.

Ok, as payment's not optional, this launch event isn't really busking in the traditional sense. But we confidently expect the quality of the music to be far higher than you get on the Tube - and there won't be an out-of-tune guitar or dodgy backing track in site.

The Busking Cancer Launch Party takes place on 20 June. Tickets are £20 and available now. We think it'll easily be worth the money. After all, how often do you get to see a gig on an ex-military ship on the Thames?
