BNP Leader Gets Egg On Face

Nick Griffin's attempt to celebrate his party's European election success was scrambled today when protestors pelted him with eggs outside Parliament. The MEP-elect for North West England may have overestimated his support in the Big Smoke when he organised a press conference on College Green. Word got out to Unite Against Fascism, 100 of whose members piled down Westminster way, arms chockful of a bakers dozen, and opened fire. With the BNP leader on the run from protesters, who yelled "off our streets, Nazi scum", Griffin's bodyguards were forced comply with the crowd's request and rushed their man away into his waiting car to escape the scene. Yet was Griffin's game just to spark such a scene, and further validate his party's underdog, anti-establishment political status?
