Weekend Round-Up

1705.weru.jpg

Here's what we've learned this weekend whilst you've been singing cheesy songs with Graham Norton:

  • They'll be glad of rain at Wimbledon today as some vets try out the new roof.
  • A woman has been knocked over and killed by a lorry at Luton airport.
  • Ice cream war threatens the leafy lanes of Primrose Hill.
  • Greenwich was Henry VIII's playground. A man has been arrested following the death of a man from stab wounds in North London yesterday.
  • Islington has a feisty new octogenarian mayor.
  • Wisteria seems to thrive on beer: Fuller's have the oldest plant in England.
  • Meet Britain's oldest gold medallist: 100 this weekend.
  • Sunday Papers by tezzer57 via the Londonist flickr pool.

Vets are trying out at Wimbledon? Do you mean the Sampras and Agassi style vet, or the James Herriot and Rolf Harris-style ones? I hope it's the latter.

Must be Herriots. Agassis playing at Wimbledon would hardly be news, now would it?
