Famous for its unique location, beneath the elevated Westway A40 it boasts a wondrous climbing centre which peeks over the top of the road, five a side football pitches between the struts of the road, fine indoor tennis courts and the best handball fives courts this side of Eton. Westway Sports Centre is firmly for the local community but also a centre of excellence so whether there's an inner Olympian in you or simply the nagging sensation you really should be running around more, there'll be something to suit your standard. Pitch up and try something out in a fun, no pressure, carnivalesque environment with plenty of professional instructors on hand to help.
Westway also offers a community gym, horse riding, swimming instruction, Street20 Cricket, capoeira, streetdance, netball and basketball as well as hosting a climbing shop and the all important juice bar for when you need to refuel. Furthermore, the Sports Centre is just one part of Westway Development Trust which takes care of the stretch of land snaking from Latimer Road to Portobello Green up to the Skate Park past Acklam Studios, all beneath the iconic flyover.
