Preview of a Preview: TreeHouse Gallery @ Area 10

tree[1].gif This is kind of an event within an event. Saturday sees our friends at Area 10 in Peckham hosting a party in aid of the TreeHouse Gallery, a project due to unfold in Central London this summer.

A bunch of talented tree-loving bods are going to build a series of three tree houses in (jolly sturdy) trees around the boating lake in Regents Park, in which to create, debate and meditate. Construction is to take place during June, with extra-special attention being given to sustainablity and the park environment. There will be classes, perfomances and exhibitions during the tri-pod's lifespan from the beginning of July to the end of August. Gosh we love London.

Anyway, this weekend is something towards a launch party. There will be art, loads of music, puppetry, arbornauts (sic) and tree-flavoured ice cream (which is obviously the reason we're going). If you never been to Area 10, you have really, truly missed something special.

Entry is £3.00, and it runs from 3pm 'til midnight. To find it walk through Peckham Square past the library to the old Whitten Timber Yard - the door's on the right. Or you could always just follow the white rabbit.
