Football: Tottenham, Barcelona and Celtic for Wembley

Wembley Stadium will once again play host to the domestic season's myriad finals over the next couple of weeks, but for the first time since it was rebuilt it is going to play a part in pre-season preparations, too, as Champions League finalists Barcelona have been invited to join Tottenham Hotspur, Glasgow Celtic, and African Champions League holders Al Ahly of Egypt in the inaugural Wembley Cup.

The tournament will feature two matchdays, Friday 24th July starting at 5:15 and then Sunday 26th from 1:15. Tottenham will face Barcelona in their first match and Celtic in their second, which should give Harry Redknapp an ideal opportunity to run the rule over any new signings in place by then.

From noon today Spurs members will be able to book their seats with prices ranging between £29 and £59 for each day and your ticket allowing you to watch both matches in that session, while tickets to attend both days cost from £50 to £100. Prices will likely be very similar when tickets go on sale to the general public next Monday.

Fans eager to see Lionel Messi, Shunsuke Nakamura and Al Ahly forward Flávio Amado, scorer of Angola's only goal at the 2006 World Cup finals, in action can register to receive updates about the event at it's official site.
