We’d love to have been a fly on the wall during this negotiation. Though hardly a snip at £18m, it’s a pretty big discount for ex-City bond dealer Raffaele Mincione who managed to knock a cool £22m off the asking price of this Kensington home.
‘There's no bargain. In a very uncertain time, there is no bargain,’ said Mr Mincione, somewhat modestly, of his negotiating skills.
Still, compared to this sale in Hampstead last year, it looks like a mere starter home and the drop in house prices in April means that we might even be able to afford a small mansion by the end of the year if we get our bargaining heads on. Spare a thought for the estate agent responsible for this deal who will probably be laughing all the way to the bank.
