Preview: The Field at Cargo

Cargo’s cunning ploy to pull in the people with no door charge on Friday nights, continues this week with a sumptuous Swedish techno offering, promising to be the best place in town for cheap thrills.

The much-revered Kompakt artist Axel Willner, better known as The Field, will perform a live set, previewing material from the forthcoming 'Yesterday & Today'.

This is his first date back in the capital after a memorable headlining performance at Victoria Park's Field Day.

A newly assembled band, featuring percussionist Dan Enqvist and multi-instrumentalist Andreas Söderstrom, will bring a new element to proceedings.

But if Willner's previous sound sculpture of a record ‘From Here We Go Sublime’ is anything to go by, expect epic, glacial melodies, combined with thrusting, hypnotic beats, in front of a faithful following, thoroughly entranced.
