Dogged by Bats

1404.tower.jpg Love it when animals get the upper hand. 'Cept spiders: we don't love them very much. This time it's bats on the Isle of Dogs. They're busy flapping and roosting and doing general batty things, much to the inconvenience of Glenkerrin *award winning luxury homes*, who are trying to build some new flats on the site of the creatures' current domicile, a disused structure at 'Island Point'. The bats, a protected species, are working curiously hand in wing with the residents of the area, who are also less than keen for the development to go ahead. Well, we wish them all luck. But we have to say that the most salient parts of this story are that a) Tower Hamlets employs a bat walker, and b) that he eats bat poo. Strange, what some people do for a living.
