Free Tonight?

Richard 'thicky Dickie' Trevithick probably came in for a fair bit of grief at school, and later created that favourite target for the bully: the trainspotter. His 'Catch-me-who-can' engine was the first paying passenger train in the world. Unfortunately, it was more useless than the Hammersmith and City Line, simply going round and round in tight circles on a site now occupied by Chadwick Building, UCL. You can hear all about the pioneering puffer at the Rugby Tavern tonight, courtesy of The Railway & Canal Historical Society. Catch them who can.
