A new report from the London Assembly warns train companies not to get too carried away with cutting staff and capacity. London trains already carry on average 3.5% more passengers than they should (up to 40% more at peak times), and this recession and falling passenger numbers won't last forever. "The Big Squeeze" report (ah, guys, you kill us) says numbers will rise in the long-term and highlights stations where commuters already can't get on trains. Sympathies to everyone at East Croydon...
