Everyone Huddle Up Now

Full_train_4Feb09.jpg A new report from the London Assembly warns train companies not to get too carried away with cutting staff and capacity. London trains already carry on average 3.5% more passengers than they should (up to 40% more at peak times), and this recession and falling passenger numbers won't last forever. "The Big Squeeze" report (ah, guys, you kill us) says numbers will rise in the long-term and highlights stations where commuters already can't get on trains. Sympathies to everyone at East Croydon... But there is hope. Southeastern recently reinstated extra carriages on some trains after complaints. People power! (Image / Ti.mo)
