London Protests

protest1701.jpg Bloody blimey - everyone’s at it today. Protesting. To the West of the capital we’ve got the Anti-Third-Runway lobby, who were today massing in Terminal 5 to express their contempt over the government’s decision. Londonist was all for joining in when we heard that villain of the week Geoff Hoon had dissed national luvvie Emma Thompson. Some people have no sense or sensibility.

Meanwhile, back in central London, thousands are demonstrating against the Israeli attacks on Gaza. For the second week running. Although organisers are hoping for slightly more peaceful proceedings this time: last Saturday saw 24 arrests.

Power to the People, we say.

Talking of Emma T, a worthy point is made in the Daily Mash's unique style, here...

Didn't she announce her protest and then hot-foot it to her plane to the Golden Globes? Wonder if she went economy (best for reduced emissions) or might she have gone for business or first (much worse)? I think we ought to know...
