Police Investigate "Racist, Homophobic" Abuse

Police in Hampshire have released pictures of sixteen Spurs fans they wish to question over "racist and homophobic" abuse directed at Portsmouth's Sol Campbell during a Premier League game on September 28th. Campbell, who controversially left Tottenham for rivals Arsenal in 2001, is usually subject to vicious abuse from the Spurs faithful whenever he appears in front of them. It's encouraging that police are working in conjunction with the club to address what has become a dire situation, one that unfortunately seems to be tolerated by the less splenetic but no less aggrieved majority of White Hart Lane regulars. The FA are promising a lifetime ban for any fans it could prove were involved.
