Freight Will Be Great

London Reconnections have kindly dissected the government's announcement about a new £54 million freight rail line to run alongside London Overground and tried to clarify what it actually means for us passengers. Seems the best message is that, given LO's propensity to break or need engineering work, passenger services will have alternative tracks to run on, once the freight rails are put in place, so minimising disruption from 2014 onwards and of course, relieving the roads of a portion of lorry congestion. But it seems an awful long time away.
