Because treasure hunts are proving to be excellent ways to meet new people, re-discover the city you love and generally pass the time in a novel way, we have not one but TWO treasure hunts to tell you about.

First up: help look for little people this Sunday! Street artist Slinkachu has been leaving tiny hand-painted people around the city, creating minscule scenes of drama at the edge of puddles, under clumps of roadside weeds and on the corners of public pathways, sparking little tremors of sympathy and intrigue for the few who spot them. To celebrate the launch of Slinkachu's book Little People in the City, there is a free treasure hunt for those inclined towards treasure hunts. Head to the COSH gallery in Soho to register and then get searching for four specially made sets of figures, out in the city alone. If you fidn 'em and get to the end at the Truman Breweries on Brick Lane, there's the chance to win signed limited edition Slinkachu prints and a not very little party to partake. For more information about Slinkachu and the treasure hunt, go to the Little People Blog.

For those who prefer their treasure hunts on a slightly more normal scale, there is the London Transport Museum Roundel Scavenger Hunt on Saturday 27 September. The instantly recognisable roundel is 100 years old this year and celebrations will take the form of... a Flickr scavenger hunt. Can you crack the cryptic clues leading you to a host of Roundels hiding in the City? There will be prizes for the winners and photos taken on the day will have the chance to be featured in the Museum’s brand new Online Roundel Browser - an interactive part of the website with games and resources all about the famous Roundel design.

To sign up to take part in the scavenger hunt you’ll need to log on and sign up to Flickr if you’re not already a member. Then go to the London Transport Museum Roundel Scavenger Hunt group and follow the instructions to join in the hunt. Sign up quick! And we'll see you out and about hunting down tube signs...
