Music Choice: Monday 14th - Friday 18th July

Last week we managed to get out and about to catch Gravetemple at Underworld, The Magnetic Fields at Cadogan Hall and Jaguar Love at the 100 Club. We also introduced you to a few upcoming events, namely Gilles Peterson Presents A Night Of Death Jazz @The Roundhouse, Oren Ambarchi at The Luminaire and Horatio Oratorio at Shunt Vaults.

Looking ahead to this week however, this evening US indie rockers Pinback play the Scala (tickets are £12 each). Alternatively, hotly tipped White Denim play the miniscule Borderline - catch them whilst you can before they start playing massive venues. Tickets are £8 each.

Tuesday sees We Are Scientists bring their amusing show to Somerset House as part of their Summer Series. Tickets are a rather extortionate £25 each. US rockers My Morning Jacket play the Forum - tickets are £15 each.

The Mars Volta play the first of two consecutive nights at the Roundhouse on Wednesday night - tickets are £20 each. If rock isn't your sort of thing, then why not catch Ladytron's electro pop at their Astoria date, rescheduled from when they blew up the soundsystem there a month ago. Tickets are £14.50 each.

US indie popstars Death Cab For Cutie play Brixton Academy on Thursday night, which has some tickets are £14.50 available from certain outlets. Alternatively, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip play their rap / beats combo at the Astoria 2 - tickets are £12.50 each.

To round out the week, why not catch Jill Scott's unique blend of soul and jazz funk at the Brixton Academy on Friday night? Tickets are £32.50 each.

We always recommend ethical gig trading site Scarlet Mist as your first port of call for tickets particularly when they're sold out, so check them out and beat the touts. Failing that Gumtree is always a friend.
