Weekend Round-Up

Here’s what we’ve learned this weekend whilst you’ve been cavorting at this festival or that:

  • RIBA have commended the Terminal 5 building and Wembley Stadium. As if they could get away without praising Wembley….
  • A new report on gun crime fails to report anything that’s particularly new. The police seem to have misplaced a bailed terrorist. Pleasure cruises that are a bit too pleasurable: police raids net some dodgy substances.
  • The BBC have admitted liability in a case of asbestos-related death.
  • Barmy Barnet are now issuing Pray and Display parking permits.
  • Ken is ‘fascinated’ by Boris. We’re sure the feeling’s mutual, Ken.
  • A teenager has been stabbed to death in York Way.
  • And here’s what we think we might have learned by this time next week:

  • That Andy Murray rocks;
  • That Will Smith still rocks.
  • And that most people are ignoring the ‘credit crunch’ (Londonist wants to book its holiday this week – bargains galore there ain’t).
  • 46664 image from p_c_w’s flickr stream under the Creative Commons Licence. Brian May always rocks.
