If, like the rest of the film-going world, you were wowed by Ellen Page’s performance in Juno last year, and have been raving about her to everyone you meet, you’ll definitely want to get one up on your filmy friends by checking out Page’s 2005 performance in a screening of “Mouth to Mouth” at the Curzon Soho this Sunday 15 June.

Filmed a full two years before Juno was the talk of the town, Mouth To Mouth stars Page as Sherry, a young girl “searching for a place to belong where she can still be herself.” Like most of us when we went through that, she finds it with SPARK – Street People Armed with Radical Knowledge – and tours across Europe with them in a camper van. We don’t know about you, but that sounds just like our teen years.

There is a Q&A following the screening on Sunday with actresses Beatrice Brown and Natasha Wightman, producer Anne Beresford, composer Rowan Oliver and choreographer Charlotte Derbyshire. It’s always nice to have some insider film knowledge, isn’t it? We’re sure they’ll let you in on a few “before she was famous” stories as well as sharing some insights into the making of the film.

We’re huge fans of independent film, so it’s nice to see this one benefiting from Page’s fame and getting to see the light of day.

Mouth to Mouth with Cast and Crew Q&A at the Curzon Soho, Sunday 15 June @ 2pm. Tickets available here or by calling 0871 703 3988. Mouth to Mouth will be released on DVD later this month.
