Decima Editions

At a loose end? Want cheap beer? Wandering aimlessly around Mile End, or Hackney Wick (you can read Londonist on your mobile's browser after all)? Want to buy some art? If you can check any of these boxes, then you should head down to Decima Gallery's launch of Decima Editions, a new project selling artists' products and merchandise.

By multiples they mean limited, and non limited edition. A wide range of people/art groups have stalls. From aspiring young photographers, to more established East London art groups. In fact you'll be able to buy art in a range of media from DVDs to edible art. Decima themselves will be selling signed and dedicated books by or about a range of people including Gilbert & George, Gavin Turk, and Bob & Roberta Smith, and more, all at low prices. These books include personal dedications by the artists. This is in addition to Gilbert & George's Planed, signed and dedicated to order, a special Decima cut of the cult film Sandra and some items released at the fair, including The Lonesome Cowboys from Hell's CD EP Decima Dawg Day.

Not only is there a vast range of art stuff, but weather permitting, there will be an all-afternoon BBQ village fete event taking place in the gallery and courtyard. There might also be bands playing.

You might very well pick up a bargain that will, in years to come, vastly increase in price (although if you do buy art for this reason, rather than simply liking it, this Londonist thinks you are at best a fool). You might get slightly drunk and lost in deepest East London. You will be entertained at the very least.

It starts at 2pm and goes on to 6pm. That's like right now, isn't it?

Decima Editions Art Fair 1 @ Old Peanut Factory,
