Weekend Round-Up

Here’s what we’ve learned this weekend whilst you’ve been trying to put those new bookshelves up:

  • The term ‘birthday bash’ got a whole new meaning this weekend as the police arrested no less than 7 party goers for fighting.
  • Londonist isn’t quite sure what an internet brothel is, but fifteen people have been arrested following raids therein this weekend The tube strike’s probably off. Can anyone remember if this is the same threatened strike as last week, or a different threatened strike?
  • Cockup on the Eurostar front as it takes eleven hours to get from London to Paris.
  • No more telling porkies in Lambeth: the benefits people are using lie detectors to conduct telephone interviews.

And here’s what we think we will have learned by this time next week:

  • Following Prescott’s (um, actually rather brave) admission that he had bulimia, we can expect an epidemic of more parliamentary information than we really need.
  • As National Welly Week fever sweeps the nation, you’ll be glad that you bought those bright floral numbers.

    Have a jolly one.
