If you have the urge to get quasi-religious this weekend and fancy a night out with a theme of heaven, hell, resurrection and redemption, then you can go to the slightly unlikely location of Kensal Green to find what you're looking for.

The Paradise Show at Paradise by way of Kensal Green is the first in a series of Bank Holiday parties at this restored pub. All seven spaces of this theatrical, handsome boozer will be transformed for a heaven and hell themed evening of excess and excitement. We like the sound of the promised "divine invasion of bands, DJs and burlesque for your pleasure." And the fact the dress code is Lost in Paradise with recommendations along the lines of cherubs, nymphs, beasts, priests, serpents, fallen angels, divine comics makes Kensal Green suddenly so much more mystical, magical and alluring...

Even if you can't get your feathered angel wings and velour halo back from the drycleaners in time for the Easter Sunday bash, Paradise by way of Kensal Green is worth a visit on any other non-religious occasion. The look of this pub and its impressive dining is based on hedonistic French chateaux with a courtyard, fireplaces, chandeliers and quirky antiques propping up various corners.

The Paradise Show at Paradise by way of Kensal Green, Sunday 23 March, £8 on the door. For more information, go here.
