We at Londonist hope you’re having a great weekend, and – if we’re not overstepping the bounds of our relationship here – maybe even a bit of a sexy weekend. But if these chilly November days haven’t contained quite so much hanky panky as you’d hoped, there are a few hours left to get to the Erotica 2007 show being held this weekend at the Kensington Olympia where you can, ahem, warm your cockles.
Until 8pm this evening punters can check out what promises to be an astonishing array of saucy products ranging from the obvious, like toys and lingerie, to the (shall we say) more specialised, like ‘fetish furniture and equestrian equipment’. There are live events too – already this weekend Dita Von Teese, the American burlesque artist, was on hand to show audiences the seductive delights of her Feather Fan dance, and lovers could get masterclasses in DIY erotic filmmaking.
Apparently a number of people were going to Erotica dressed in their daring best, but if you’re temped to do this be warned: according to the Agence France-Presse report on the show a gentleman called Beastie has already set the bar rather high.
"I've been told by security to cover up my bare backside," the 53-year-old truck driver told AFP, pointing to his newly-bought fishnet hotpants, which just about did the job.
And if that image doesn’t make your weekend just a tiny bit sexier, then surely it’s a lost cause already.
