Just once in a while, wouldn't it be fun to go to a club night and still be able to hear yourselves think? Actually have a conversation? Somewhere where you can still have a dance, but don't have to push your way to the bar and then be ignored by a barman for half an hour? If so, look no further than Rocktronica. A weekly 'club' night that should serve you perfectly.

OK, so it's not really a club night, it's basically a (rather lovely) pub with some (rather good) DJs. Every Saturday, Rocktronica takes over Wyvill's in Vauxhall and it's certainly worth poking your head around the door.

There's a guest DJ every week (the fab DJ Cautious was there last Saturday) so you can be sure the music is never going to get dull. There's also a music quiz which will have you tearing you hair out within minutes (and possibly sneaking outside to phone a friend!)

Rocktronica is a simple, pleasant night out. If you want to dance, you can dance, if you want to sing then that's OK too. Or, just get drunk on pear cider and play on the space invaders machine next to the bar while having a good old gossip about how music just isn't as good as it used to be.

Are we getting old?

Rocktronica is every Saturday from 9pm–2am at Wyvills (The Vauxhall Griffin) on Wyvill Road. Nearest tube: Vauxhall.
