Last week's feature on the Bushy Park Time Trial, a 5km fun run which takes place each Saturday at 9am, went up so late on Friday night you barely had chance to dig out your kit before getting a good night's rest in preparation, so we thought we'd bring it to your attention one more time.

The event is always open to anybody, whatever their standard, and you can simply turn up on the day and take part, typically alongside two or three hundred others. Prizes are available, but it's mostly about the fun of joining in and hopefully seeing your time improve each time you enter. There's also the chance of getting your picture on the web looking sporty, possibly your name in the local paper and definitely the opportunity of a well-deserved cappucino and friendly conversation in the Caffe Nero on Broad Street, Teddington, afterwards.

The event is totally free and always starts from the car park near the Diana fountain at the southern, Hampton Court end of Bushy Park. For further details, see last week's original post.
