Tooting Bec Lido's Open Weekend
Tooting Bec Lido

Just as the weather remembers that it's already done Summer this year and ought to think about maybe raining a bit and turning a bit colder, Tooting Bec Lido is putting on some special events this coming weekend (16th and 17th September) as part of its ongoing centenary celebrations.

PA tells us:

As well free access to the pool, activities this weekend include an exhibition of lido-inspired paintings by members of the South London Swimming Club and a lecture by author Janet Smith on the history of Tooting Bec Lido.

Vistors to the pool on Sunday can also join the tree planting ceremony to mark lido's centenary.

Sounds good to us. So, the weather may be set to rain this week but you go swimming to get wet, after all, unless you're one of those ridiculous people who swims as if getting your hair wet will turn it green or make it all fall out (you know who you are, crappy breast-stroke-mongers in the fast lane).
