  • Today Ken launched his Valuing Older People initiative, designed to challenge "stereotypes of older people and provide a framework to develop a city in which older Londoners have the support they need to lead active, healthy and independent lives." • Ken's a busy man: The Times takes a look at the Mayor's £1bn plans for the Oxford Street 'shopping zone'.
  • But there is come competiton, plans were unveiled today for The Westfield Centre in White City, which will cost £1.6bn and will be Greater London's biggest shopping center.
  • Talking of large London erections: Swiss Re might be selling off the Gherkin (although they're not moving out).
  • The woman 'plucked from obscurity' to be play Maria in the Sound of Music is getting all diva-ish, she wants to perform in every show.
