He's only been in his job for little over a year, but Richard Bacon is already leaving Capital FM's drivetime slot to head back to his former home, XFM. While X and Capital are both owned by Gcap and even housed in the same building on Leicester Square, it seems former programme director Keith Pringle's plans for the 'winning combination' of Vaughn in the morning and Bacon in the evening, just haven't worked out with the station getting some of the lowest rajar figures in recent times.

Now Richard will be doing a job-swap with XFM's drivetime host, Lucio. Starting at Hull student radio station, Lucio is a poster-boy for how to make a radio career and make it bloody good. Moving from Northern stations Hallam and Galaxy, he went to Midlands rock station Kerrang for a shortwhile before being moved down to do XFM Weekend Breakfast. When Lauren Laverne moved to breakfast, Lucio took over her old slot on drivetime, and now, well now he's getting one of the biggest gigs in London. Seriously 'kids', if you are at University in London and even fancy a career in radio then we urge you to check out your local student station and get involved. Imperial you've got ICRadio, UCL - Rare, TVU - Tube, and SOAS - SOAS Radio. Seriously, get involved!

The job swap will take place in August so you've got a few week's left of the respective hosts on their current stations. We're looking forward to seeing Richard have more leeway with what he can say, and seeing Lucio's career continue rocketing upwards.
