Richard Pope, winner of the Londonist Local Elections competition arrived at Westminster yesterday to collect his prize - a House of Commons watch!
Richard's winning entry on the local elections in Lambeth was accompanied by a website - Election Memory - an online forum for Lambeth residents to discuss election matters, and to empower themselves when it came to polling day last week.
Richard and the election memory team are applying for grants to take the scheme wider, and, if successful, could possibly have in place a similar idea for the whole of London at the next set of elections. Londonist salutes you, Richard, and the rest of the team over at electionmemory.com for the essential part they played in promoting democracy. Congratulations, and the watch was well deserved!
