Booking Ahead

Just two gigs to tell you about this week because we're still pissed that we're going to miss both The Shins on Thursday at Koko and Radiohead at Hammersmith on Thursday and Friday. If you can get tickets to either show, then we highly recommend them both. They may be worth remortgaging your house for.

Tonight: Shoegazers amongst you unite, you have nothing to lose but your paisley pattern shirts at the return of Sonic Cathedral at The Lagion, 348 Old Street. Ahead of their Dinosaur Jr support slot Dead Meadow headline over Peckham's The Lea Shores whilst the subtly monickered Beyond The Wizards Sleeve dj. A fiver on the door from 7.

Tuesday: Jackie De Shannon may not be that well know to many, and yet the first lady of folk not only dated Elvis, toured with The Beatles and recorded with Brian Wilson, but also wrote the eighties-tastic Bette Davis Eyes, officially one of the greatest songs ever recorded. So a rare acoustic performance from this 61 year old has to be considered as a major coup for Health And Happiness. As always, it's free to get in, and The Social on Little Portland Street opens it's doors at 7. In support are psyachedlic folk duo The Left Outsiders.
