Shooting

The BBC are reporting that two people are dead and another two have been hurt in a shooting incident in South East London:

A man and woman have been killed and two other people injured during a shooting. Police said armed officers were called to an address in Upper Norwood, south-east London, on Tuesday morning after reports of shots being fired. The man and woman died at the scene while the two people who were hurt were taken to nearby hospitals. A police spokesman said the street at the centre of the shooting, Menlo Gardens, had been closed to traffic.

UPDATE: The two who died apparently opened the door of a house to two men wearing masks:

The men, wearing either ski masks or balaclavas, knocked on the door of the house in Menlo Gardens, Upper Norwood, south-east London, on Tuesday morning. They shot a man, 20, and woman, 21, dead and left the dead man's twin brother seriously hurt. He is under armed guard in hospital. Another woman is in hospital suffering from shock. Detective Superintendent Gary Richardson appealed for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 0640 GMT. He said: "It is a cold-blooded murder. "We would urge anyone [who] was in the Beulah Hill area of SE19 or Menlo Gardens and saw two black men acting suspiciously or saw two men decamping from the scene on foot or by vehicle to contact us." Officers are waiting until the woman recovers before they can interview her, Mr Richardson said.
