Top of the Pods: Wichita Recordings

As this week's podcast of choice, our ears have been directed toward the 2nd podcast from London-based label Wichita Records. As this is a 'cast directly from a record label, it holds the honour of being to include music. Hooray! Gill Mills, ex Radio 1 Scotland host, presents the show, with the entire thing produced by her iCast company. iCast have also done a podcast for the home of Mylo, Breastfed Recordings, so we'll no doubt be checking that out sometime soon too!

The show opens with recent Bloc Party single Two More Years and features tracks from Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Kid 606, The Cribs and Saul Williams. The main focus though, is Euros Child's (frontman of Gorky Zycotic Mynci) debut solo album, with Gill speaking to him and playing tracks from the album.

It might not be the most varied listen and the interview may drag on a bit, but if you're into Euros or just want to hear some brand new music, then it's definately worth a punt. Gill doesn't sound too natural though and it's a bit like listening to a Virgin Train station as you travel down the West Coast trying to to block out the sound of the crying children on the seat behind you.

If you can't remember how the whole podcast shebang works then you may wish to check out our previous review which should fill you in pretty sharpish. In any case, heading directly to the Wichita Recordings should sort you out.
