Unless you've been living in a cave...on Mars...with headphones on...and you've cancelled your subscription to the Mars Musical Express (which isn't as good as it used to be anyway) then you'll already know that Madonna played an 'intimate' gig at Koko last night.

So was it any good?

Well the Independent liked it, saying it was "Madonna reclaiming the plastic pop of her past and reconnecting, Kylie-style, with her devoted gay fanbase":

Opening the show with "Hung Up", her new No.1 single is, of course, equivalent to serving your dinner guests dessert first and the crowd go predictably bananas. Madonna gives it her all, which is probably the least you'd expect, given that she's only playing five songs. She does, you have to admit, look fabulous. The look is Farrah Fawcett meets Joan Jett - tonight she has ditched the leotard in favour of purple knee-length boots and pedal pushers - while the sound is late 70s disco.

Although, right now, that seems to be the only official review we can find online.

So did you go? Did you queue? Are you part of Madge's devoted gay fanbase? Did she reconnect with you? Did you reconnect with her?

Let us know in the comments.

UPDATE: The Guardian just out a review and they liked it too. Four stars out of five and apparently the mic was switched on: "A guttural scream in the middle of I Love New York certainly suggests that her microphone is switched on, but, in reality, no one comes to see Madonna in a venue this small in order to marvel at her vocal prowess."
