It's probably a good job we don't have an -Ist outpost in the Antipodean regions otherwise there may have been a bit of gloating going on yesterday.

As it is we here at Londonist will be able to placate our celebratory appetites by joining tens of thousands of other people who will "line the streets of London" today to congratulate the England cricket team as they are paraded through the city upon the traditional open-top bus.

The tour starts at 11 this morning at Mansion House and will travel through to Queen Victoria Street, Cannon Street, St Paul's Churchyard, Ludgate Hill, Fleet Street, Strand, Duncannon Street and then Trafalgar Square around 1pm where there will be a presentation ceremony.

Then it's on to Lords where Vaughan and his team will have to give the MCC back their little urn for safekeeping, and then most probably to Tony's gaff on Downing Street for some tea and biscuits.

If you manage to get along, look out for Freddy Flintoff's eye bags. According to Radio 4 he was the last person standing in the hotel bar this morning at around 6:15. "An interview was out of the question" according to the BBC's man on the gorund.
