Well if there is one thing guaranteed to drive the final nail into Old Street's credibility coffin then this would be it.
According to the ever-reliable 3am girls over at the Mirror Mariah Carey is on the look out for a London living space, and has "instructed her people to look for places in Ladbroke Grove and around Old Street. She loves the warehouses as they remind her of the lofts in New York. She also likes Kensington and Marylebone, too."
Mariah's decidion to look East for a pad has apparently been influenced by her love for Eastenders, which she catches up on every time she's in the UK in order to copy the accents:
I love EastEnders and I've asked a friend of mine to record some episodes for me. I love the way they speak - the cockney accent, so I'm gonna learn it."
Londonist admits that we haven't venured round Old Street for a while, but we would happily travel over there to see Mariah and entourage queueing at the cash point near the all night garage.
