Last year's inaugural London International Animation Festival was such a success that it's no surprise that they've come back even bigger and better this year.

For starters they've moved in to the Curzon Cinema on Shaftesbury Avenue (one of Londinist's favourites), and they've also managed to accumulate 210 films from 30 countries to assault the capital's eyeballs with.

They've got short films, kids animation, a special British series, student animation, and computer animation; and that's on top of the specially curated series like Animated Documentaries, and a look at the "hidden Eastern European countries" such as the Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus, Latvia and Estonia.

The festival runs from 23-28 August. There's full details of the programme here and you can book tickets on the Curzon website or on this number: 44 (0)20 7734 2255.

Request for information

My name is Simon W. Golding and I am a published author (latest book: KEN LOACH - Life After Kes, national publish date 09/03/06 – GET Publishing) from the United Kingdom.

I am currently working on a biographical novel about the late great Brian Glover – Wrestler, Actor, Writer. I have the full blessing of Brian’s widow former producer Tara Prem, who will help me chronicle Brian’s rich and busy life, as a former wrestler - movie, television and stage actor, and of course writer. The book will be published by GET Publishing in hardback (distributed by Gazelle Books) – I have a national publish date of July 2006.

Obviously Brian Glover’s sloganeering and advertising campaign for Tetley etc. was a big part of his career - I am desperatley trying to contact Richard Ollive, formally Richard Ollive Animation Ltd, Golden Sqaure, Soho, London. If you can help me in my quest I would be very greatful.

Thank you for your time.

Kind wishes.

Simon
