London and what makes it great has been the focus of the world lately. It's the people, mainly, and the way different communities live side by side, just getting on with things and occasionally having a bit of a party. The inspirational Coin Street Community Builders have a series of events for the summer, celebrating the vibrancy of the area and making the most of the diversity of the city.

This weekend on the South Bank stretch between between Tate Modern and the National Theatre there will be the latest event in the Coin Street Festival: Turkish Fest. Expect Turkish music, ranging from pop to the Ottoman mehter march, the music that traditionally accompanied Ottoman soldiers into battle. There is also dance, activities for the kids, a mini-fashion show and a Turkish bazaar stuffed full of stalls serving the best of Turkish food, drink, spices, music and crafts which should give all visitors a taste of Turkey - and it's all free. See you there.
