Cup Final Frenzy

To be honest, the build-up to the FA Cup Final on Saturday hasn't quite reached 'frenzy' status yet, but at least it seems to be progressing beyond 'mildly agitated' and 'a bit miffed'. Sigh....how Londonist yearns for the 'good old days', when the whole country seemed to be holding its collective breath waiting for the big event and every other programme on the telly included the words 'cup final special' in their title.

The big news is that Thierry Henry is definitely OUT with an injury to his achilles and that Jose Antonio Reyes is also struggling for fitness. United fans may well be rubbing their hands in glee at the absence of the Arsenal talisman, but Londonist aren't bothered, so sure are we of a Gooner victory. If Reyes and Henry are out, Arsene can then go double-dutch with Bergkamp and Van Persie, who are ON FIRE...COME ON....COME ON ARSENAL...SLAY THE EVIL LORD FERG!!!!!

...ahem...sorry....a cold shower is perhaps in order.

Anyway, we implore you to enjoy the run-in to the greatest cup competition in the world (honest) and indulge yourselves in plenty of backbiting , nostalgia and meaningless statistics over the next few days. And if you can't get excited about the footy, don't forget that the Eurovision Song Contest is also on Saturday. Come on Javine !

In other news, Brentford crash out of the play-offs, Moyes is manager of the year and Cueto replaces Balshaw on the Lions tour.
