Hurray! It looks like the evil coven publishing company behind Daily Mail and the Metro are having second thoughts about bidding for the London afternoon freesheet.
According to the rumours DMGT (Daily Mail & General Trust) are 'cooling' on the idea of an afternoon giveaway newspaper that would rival the Evening Standard, warning other potential bidders that it would be a "tough process"
At the moment the Metro pays about £1m a year for it's deal with Ken and Transport for London, but an afternoon distribution would probably cost more.
Which reminds us - we haven't mentioned the London Line recently...it's very good you know.
