Although it still feels as if summer is a long way off, Londonist is already preparing to dust off its wet wipes and blow the cobwebs out of its bank account because festival ticket sale season is upon us once again.
This weekend tickets for the V Festival go on sale and in a couple of weekends time (April 3) music lovers the world over will do bandwidth battle to obtain the Willy Wonka golden ticket that is a Glastonbury pass.
However for those not wishing to leave our fair city this year the O2 Wireless Festival has just been announced (although their site isn't up yet it seems). Taking place in Hyde Park on the 24th, 25th, 29th and 30th of June, headliners are : New Order, Basement Jaxx, Keane and Kasabian respectively with full line ups still to be announced. With REM playing a few weeks later it's going to be a busy time for the park wardens. They are also offering a market place and food stalls, although any seasoned festival goer will tell you that's no recommendation at all. Tickets on sale this weekend from all the usual outlets.
