It's been a while since we had a bit of outrageous property price news on Londonist, so where better to go for the latest bit of real estate ridiculousness than leafy Hampstead.

The Hampstead and Highgate Express is reporting today that a studio flat in Mount Vernon has gone on the market for around the one million quid mark.

"The 1,300sq ft ground floor flat comes complete with its own bar and a 30ft garden," the article infoms us. "And who could resist neighbours that include two former Spice Girls - Emma Bunton and Mel C - and Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg?"

Erm, us?

Foxtons (who else) are defending their pricing because it "includes a porter service, underground parking, and use of communal gym and swimming pool." And, "this is probably one of the most sought after buildings in London," apparently.

But our favourite quote comes from the well-positioned Mike Green, Tory councillor for Hampstead Town and successful Property developer:

"This is unbelievable news. It is certainly the most expensive studio I have ever come across. Mount Vernon is a lovely development and there is the benefit of having a couple of Spice Girls living there."

See pictures of the flat (but no Spice Girls) over at Rat and Mouse.
