Manic Street Preachers have announced a UK tour. The artists formerly known as thin play the Hammersmith Apollo on 18th April. The official line is "Tickets are not on sale yet. Watch this space for more details very soon....." but the CD Times reckons that tickets will be available this Friday at 9am from gigsandtours.com. The excellent Delays will be supporting.

Meanwhile, a band who have yet to settle into corpulent comfort and could probably do with sharing a few pies with the Manics, Razorlight, have had to postpone their UK tour. The band were due to play the Ally Pally on 11th and 12th February.

Front man Johnny Borrell has a sore throat that not even a packet of Soothers could help with. According to the official site:

He was diagnosed as suffering from a laryngitis type infection, administered anti-inflammatories and banned from singing for at least two weeks. Johnny immediately flew home to London to consult a second vocal specialist who confirmed his condition, put him on a course of medication and ordered complete rest.

Razorlight fans can console themselves by playing the excellent game the band have got on their website: the Razorlight Olympics. There's a chance of winning an iPod if you play too.
