Theakston Aims For The Heart

As much as we'd like to, we can't really take the piss out of Heart FM because we never listen to it (we make it a rule never to listen to stations named after organs of the body).

But after today it might be a bit easier to take the Mick with the news that the latest addition to the Heart team is Jamie Theakston.

This Easter Theakston will replace 'jolly' Jono Coleman on the 'flagship' breakfast programme after figures last week showed Coleman and co-presenter Harriet Scot had lost around 50,000 listeners and were losing the race to Johnny Vaughan's Capital show (and if you're losing to Johnny you really are losing).

It's hoped that Theakston will appeal more to Heart's core audience of "25- to 44-year olds".

Well, we've said it before and we'll say it again: if you're not listening to Resonance FM then there's something missing in your life.
