Halloween Early This Year

Tonight sees the opening night of the Halloween short film festival at the ICA.

Billed as the "edgiest film festival in the UK", the Halloween festival has been around in some form or another since 1994, and in that time it has garnered itself a prety good reputation for presenting leftfield cinema alongside other live elements such as DJs, VJs and...erm, OJ?

The festival is on until Sunday, and you get full details of all the events taking place here.

As for tonight, Eay Your Own Ears and Chateau are presenting the opening night "shenanigans" (with Londonist favourite F#ck Off Machete playing live.

There's also a look at the work of cinematographer Nick Gordon Smith, a 60 minute selection of videos celebrating VJ culture, an award ceremony for "the strongest most complex female character on screen", and a series of shorts by Asian filmmaker Royston Tan.
