Win Tickets To See The Pipettes

We like The Pipettes, so you should too. Luckily for the uninitiated there's still a chance of seeing them this year and making your Christmas very jolly indeed. To make you so jolly your cheeks will hurt, The Pipettes have even lined up a competition to let you see them for free...

The Queens of Noize present The Guilded Musical of Sin, a "Christmas Fancy Dress Extravaganza" on 20th December, 8pm till 4am, which features The Pipettes alongside the likes of Graham Coxon, Maximo Park, The Rakes, The Subways, and Simon Bookish. The event takes place at Canvas/The Key in Kings Cross and tickets are £20 on the door or £16 in advance from Ticketweb, with £2 of your entry going to Shelter.

Graham Coxon alone would justify the entry fee but if you're feeling all Mick Hucknall ("money's too tight to mention") given the time of year, then The Pipettes are willing to help you out...

"Email [email protected] with your name and if you're among the first 20 to apply, we'll get you on [the £10 entry] list . Huzzah? Good enough? No? Alright then...

We also have two pairs of tickets to give away, gratis, libre, FREE! Better? To enter our rip-roaring compo, just complete this Pipettes song-title: "It hurts to see you...." Send your answer to [email protected] by Saturday 12 noon, and if you're pulled out of the e-hat you'll be coming in for free."

And that's not all...

If you get to next Monday's gig you'll also have the bonus of bagging yourself one of 200 limited edition numbered 1-track CDs, featuring a special Christmas song. The Pipettes will be giving away 50 of the CDs at each of their next four gigs so if you can't make next Monday, you have a choice of downloading the song on Christmas Day from PlayLouder. A special a capella version will also be downloadable from www.audiojunkies.net sometime soon. We'll keep you informed on that one.

If you really, really want the CD version of the song, then get yourself by going to one of the other gigs listed below. (The more vigilant will notice we only mention three gigs in this post - the fourth is in Brighton.)

On Thursday, December 16, The Pipettes join Neil's Children, Les Incompetents, Moco and The Daze for a "Circus Club sherry sesh" at the Elbow Room in Chapel Market, Islington. Doors are 8pm and The Pipettes will be on at 10.15ish. Admission is £5. On your way in, tell the man you've come to see The Pipettes!

The following night, Friday 17th, the band host their very own Christmas party at Tapestry Club, underneath St Aloysius Church in Phoenix Road, NW1. Euston tube. Door tax is £3.50 and it starts at 8pm. The Pipettes will be onstage at 10pm.
