Medical imaging can be as beautiful as it is informative. The Wellcome Image Awards celebrates this fact annually.
The winning 20 images for this year will go on display at the Science Museum.
It will cover everything from neural pathways in the brain, to the scales of a moth (yep, moths have scales).
We've always been a fan of this award, and the image above makes us think we're going to enjoy this year's version too.
The Wellcome Image Awards 2016 is on at the Science Museum from 16 March-19 June. Entrance to the museum and this display is free. Also on at Science Museum is the engineering feats of Da Vinci and a photographic double header.
