The Wotever DIY Film Festival Is Back

Stories of Our Lives dir Jim Chuch, Kenya, 2015

The Wotever DIY Film Festival is back at the Cinema Museum later this month to showcase the best, queer, DIY film from the LGBTQ community in the UK and around the world.

The fifth festival of its kind kicks off with a retrospective screening at the British Film Institute on 20 August. Get warmed up for the rest of the festival with a selection of the most memorable low and no-budget queer films from the last three years of the festival.

The opening gala night features two film screenings and a party. First on the bill is Stories of Our Lives, created by a team who travelled all over Kenya to collect stories from LGBT Kenyans, developing an anthology film shot on a single Canon DSLR.

Other events include screenings of political films, Latin American films, and films that experiment with gender, as well as a filmmaker networking social, and much more. This year's programme is three times the size of previous festivals, so it's a varied and packed programme covering all aspects of queer life.

Wotever DIY Film Festival takes place at The Cinema Museum in Kennington, 21-23 August. Ticket prices vary, prebook here.
