Irving Berlin To Oasis: It's A One Man Band Dance Party

You've been to clubs, you've been to gigs, you've been to performances by one-man-band accordionists... What? Not so much of the latter? Well, here's your chance to combine all three in an event we're pretty confident you won't have experienced the like of before.

Igor Outkine is a master of the midi accordion. We once heard him accompany a silent film screening and could have sworn there were at least three people in the 'band'. On 29 March he's going to be spending the whole evening playing famous choons from the 1940s to the present, all with a dancefloor if you feel like throwing some shapes. Or just knock back a few drinks and admire the mad skills.

Tickets cost £8 in advance (plus booking fee if bought online) or £10 on the door at St Swithun's Hall in Hither Green. The night's being run by the local cinema group, who campaign for a permanent cinema for Lewisham — one of the few London boroughs without one — and screen films themselves to plug the gap.

Listen to Igor live-soundtracking a clip of Nosferatu at the Ivy House in Nunhead a few years ago to get a taste of his talent.

Igor's One Man Band Spring Dance Party is on 29 March at St Swithun's Hall, St Swithun's Road, SE13. Doors open 7pm, tickets £8 / £10. For more information see the Hither Green Hall website.
