Nose To Tail Fortnight: Head, Shoulders, Veal And Toes

With only four days left of the Grub Club and Ethical Eat’s Nose to Tail Fortnight — a celebration of off-cuts and overlooked offal — there’s still time to experience some intriguing events such as Head, Shoulders, Veal and Toes (Veal and Toes), courtesy of The Wandering Chef.

Venture into a pop-up operating theatre in Islington, for morsels of veal surgically sliced with a scalpel. The five-course meal includes the likes of sweetbread, tongue and heart tacos and the aim is to educate and reassess attitudes to food waste – why do we discard certain parts of meat and how much flavour are we missing out on?

If you require a bit of Dutch Courage, a cash bar will serve bodily-function-themed elixirs such as the Urine for Trouble, with peach vodka, Cointreau, orange and lemon.

If you think many would baulk at the opportunity – think again. This resurgence in underused fare has proved to be quite popular, and tickets for 12 June have now completely sold out. There’s still space left on Friday 14 June, so get your trotters on if you fancy trying it out for yourself.

Event takes place 14 June, 7.30pm, £38.50 for 5 courses. Tickets Available here.
