Preview: More London Free Film Festival @ The Scoop

It's that time of year again: September’s around the corner and the More London Free Film Festival is back.

Fingers crossed for some suitably summery September events where you can enjoy the following films for free. Now in its 10th year, the More London Free Film Festival shows a mix of classics and newer movies on a big 25ft screen on the side of the Thames, just by Tower Bridge. Head to (un)comfort of the concrete amphitheatre called The Scoop: there’s no need to book, so you can just rock up if you think the weather’s going to be kind. (Don’t forget to bring something to sit on: even with these top film titles on offer, those Scoop seats are still darned hard after a few minutes’ sitting.)

  • The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, 12 Sept
  • Great Expectations, 13 Sept
  • Midnight in Paris, 14 Sept
  • Walkabout, 19 Sept
  • Senna, 20 Sept
  • Oliver!, 21 Sept
  • A Streetcar Named Desire, 26 Sept
  • Tinker Tailor Solider Spy, 27 Sept
  • West Side Story, 28 Sept

Films start at 7.30pm. If it’s a popular one and the weather’s good, get down there early.

The More London Free Film Festival is at The Scoop at More London, More London Riverside, London, SE1. See www.morelondon.com/thescoop for more info.
